What is Long & Short?
The terms long and short is referring to investing or trading. Long means an investor or trader buys first into a financial instrument and hope that the price will appreciate in a later date and sell it back to the market at a higher price for a profit.
Whereas, short means an investor or trader sell first into a financial instrument and hope that the price will drop in a later date and buys it from the market at a lower price for a profit.
In simple terms long means to buy first and sell later, while short means to sell first and buy later.
